I am a Berlin based artist, resettled from New York City since about ten years.
My wife brought Holochain to my attention a few years ago. She’s an early supporter and we recently received our Holoport. It is happily whirring and aurora glowing away in anticipation of its future activity.
I am first and foremost a visual artist. I have been playing with computers in this respect for many years. Some of that work lead me to do some programming so I have a decent understanding of the general concepts.
I worked for seven years for a VJ software company as their communications person, managing the global community of users as well as providing email based technical support. All this while traveling, conducting workshops, doing installations and performing.
A year ago I also started tokenising artwork on the Ethereum blockchain and I am involved in the online community surrounding this ‘market’.
I have read Holoport documentation, read articles related to it. There is a lot to learn but I think I have a fair understanding of the basic principles.
Last year my wife and I attended an impromptu Holochain meet up here in Berlin where we met Arthur Brock. When I prompted him about how we can best support the project he recommended that I help foster a Berlin Holochain community.
Last night I attended the first official Holochain meet up in Berlin hosted by @bear who inquired if anyone was willing to help start a regular meet up. I raised my hand along with a small group of others who are also eager to help build some momentum here.
Phy speaking here, disguised as @Blooniverse (for reasons of clarity).
You might know me from/via Blooniverse.com/Content/Dreams/Holochain/ — what do you think, could my old Volox (a Virtualbox virtual appliance/machine from spring/summer 2019) on this old landing-page still be of use, or shall I trash it?
Working on a basic NixOS virtual appliance (Virtualbox once more) now - have been learning tons about this powerful sysadmin & devops tool. Extremely impressive. Finalising the file configuration.nix now.
hello holo-community! My name is Greg Kerr. I build remote renewable energy grids in remote areas of the poorest country on the planet; Liberia (west Africa). I see Holochain as a pathway to a Universal Basic Income by measuring individual actions against global stability goals.
Thank you everyone in advance for your help and hard work! kerr.greg@gmail.com

I’ve been following Holochain for several months and am starting to feel like I have a good understanding of the core concepts (it does take time!). I was listening to an overview of Dfinity recently (which seems to be a massively resourced project), and their idea of ‘autonomous software’ does sound similar. But they still seem to rely on powerful servers spread around the world to support the network.
The idea that Holochain will ultimately run on users’ own devices, with no need for servers anywhere, still blows my mind.
I’m involved in an early stage SaaS product https://www.nodd.com and would be very keen on considering Holochain in the future.
Hi, I’m Lily. I’m one of the Holochain community organizers in NYC. I first learned about Holochain in a NYC hackathon. I’ve been learning Rust so I can build hApps and also thinking about components & patterns needed to build out some of the apps ideas. It’s been wonderful being part of this community! I’m excited about the journey ahead!
Hi, I am Matthew Nichols. I am a long time WebApp developer who mostly plays in the front end space. I am a long time Windows user (I will make an assumption that this a safe space for all OS users ) and am dipping my toe into Rust development under WSL2.
Hi, I am Su-SAN. I am working on creating a cultural commons for Settlers and First Peoples on Turtle Island (North America). It will be a safe space in which to make sense of our Treaty Relationships through dialogue and the sharing of information. I have been conceptualizing the space and doing User Research for the past year and am now about to start the design phase.
My holoport arrives next week and so I need to get that up and running… I am also trying to figure out the best way to create a MVP/prototype over this year and find people who can assist me with the coding it… While I have been in and out of Holochain forums and zoom meetings since 2018, met several members of the community online and have reviewed info shared online, I still have lots of questions, so it is time to find some specific answers by engaging in this community forum. Thanks in advance for your support and please bear with me as I ask lots of dumb questions.
Hi everyone, I’m Maddie and I’m in Portland Oregon. I lead a software team professionally. I only learned about holochain a week or so ago but I’m getting quite interested in it, both as a technology and as a community.
WSL2 (I’m using Ubuntu) is working like a charm for Rust development. If you use Visual Studio Code with Remote - WSL, rust-analyzer, crates and Search crates.io extensions is even better.
Hey my name is Ian and I am from the west coast of the usa, I’ve loved technology for as long as I can remember, but I was lucky to grow up with an appreciation of the natural world that keeps us all alive.
I just stumbled across this community and I love the positively and and dreaming of a brighter future for everyone. I’m sure I’ll find something to do around here.
Hello, everyone! I’m Ramna Sidharta, from Brazil. I study Computer Science and have much interest in web 3.0 technologies, which empower people. In my view, people come first! I’m getting always more interested in how the hole “Holo project” is intended to create technological solutions to problems of the modern world.
I’m gonna write a thesis for my graduation, prototyping something in Holochain.
