World Economic Forum partnership

Yes, well explained.
And much of course is well underway - says me just checking my Bitcoin, (that right at this very moment is not far off another all time high!!!) And my UNI, AAVE etc. etc.
I like the combination of high and low tech - the iphone in my pocket as I dig my allotment with my spade.
The law is of course a tricky one. There is no doubt that we need to live by the rule of law (although at one time I did question that). But what laws and how they are made is a massive subject. A big task once you move away from the immutable laws of nature towards the laws of man that sometimes seem so unreasonable to so many people.

Note that whenever I use the term “anarchy”, I mean “anarcho-capitalism” (as though that wasn’t obvious).

Also, my definition of libertarianism (and the NAP, etc) extends to include animals as well.
There’s a term for it: Veganarchism, but it’s largely so unheard of (and might I say niche) that I rarely use it…

Thought it was worth pointing out…
The word “anarchy”, for reasons I’m unaware of, evokes a very wild and violent image in people’s minds which has nothing to do with what we ascribe to it…

This is a fantastic discussion! I was wondering how best to participate as the only belief I have about the future is we co-create it.

My vision is one of a technology-enabled self-sovereignty, and this project is the closest I’ve seen to provide that opportunity hence why I am currently here.

I am a facts junkie so thought the Who is Klaus Schwab? video I saw the other day would be a good link to drop in here:

Also the meet Bill Gates 4-part series by Corbett Report is worth watching if you haven’t already:

I would love to believe the mainstream media story, have faith in all of humanity and go about my merry way however decades of experience has proven to me time and again there are many not-so-nice people in positions of great power.

When it comes to technology, specifically Free/Libre Open Source, we do have the opportunity to make the world a nicer place for all however it still suffers from top-down power dynamics in terms of influence.

The only way I believe this will be solved is when people are taken out of the equation when it comes to code, and for that reason I want to ensure I can view and modify that code for my own needs and share it with my friends.

This experience I have gained from various points in my life, like when I met someone who’d been reverse engineering proprietary file formats for most of his life just so people could share files and printers between different machines and started talking to me about power throughout centuries, kings and queens, and who says what is right and what is wrong… and more recent experiences sitting around a table with other directors of a project that powers hundreds of government systems, media companies, etc.

“Freedom” is something I believe we need to wake up each day and defend as we all are a fractal of the whole, no one more or less deserving than another.

That’s my 2p, off to get measured up for my glasses, apparently I’m having issues with my vision… just fixing that final bit so I can see clearly

Yes I read it - ‘The Limits to Growth’ back in the 70’s - but not the 90’s update. Population control? Mind control?
For forty years I’ve been stuck between Microsoft’s cheap and flawed and Apples’s expensive and smothering technology/code.
Fortunately Tim Berners Lee created html that at least opened the doors to a whole new paradigm a distraction from having to work with the other two to make a living.
I worked as a graphic designer who had to move from the drawing board to the computer - my first ‘big system’ was purchased by Robert Maxwell (he has an interesting life story too).
And the first little apple Mac I saw (we had started with Microsoft) showed that our world was going to change - and change it has!
After watching 56.27 minutes on Klaus Schwab (Who I didn’t know anything about) I can’t spend 2.07.40 on Bill Gates right now - maybe another time.

I think it’s silly to point fingers at the few…

You see, all men are rational, and so are tyrants.

[Not to mean that any of them are tyrants or anything… But the system we live under is; it’s a tyrannical system, and there’s no denying that! Democracy is just a nice makeup on what is in truth the devil in disguise! Even Hoppe, another Austrian Economist and author of “Democracy: the God that Failed”, agrees on this stance.]

Rational men long power (Nietzsche’s Will to Power); and it’s perfectly healthy.

The problem arises when their rational decisions end up worsening the lot!
Every warrior on a battlefield rationally makes the decision to fight, yet the whole lot loses somehow… Classic game theory at its best. What should matter to us is that we arrange ourselves (meaning our societies) in ways whereby our rational decisions end up doing the greatest good possible. In fact, I’d go as far as to say that nothing is as altruistic as a capitalistic society. [And I don’t get it as to why people are foolish enough to believe the World Economic Forum is capitalistic!]

That’s the world economic forum summed up.

Thanks to AI and automation (which renders us humans useless for the most part), this dream of socialists (and yes, I classify dictators, tyrants, commies, and governments under socialism) can finally come true. And that should be enough to give you chills.

And so, I repeat:

Sadly, the truth is, and as you @pathecat have already said, one person yields no power… And as long as the common man wants more welfare, supports automation-tax, favours climate-change-reversal measures, remains patriotic and exerts his voting power to achieve the same, the dream of a fully anarchist laissez-faire society can never take off… Add to it the fact that man cannot change and it becomes pretty certain that we’re bound to take this socialist ride, for better or worse…

To some degree one learns that bashing ones head against a brick wall only achieves one thing in the end - a headache.
Keeping a grip on the socialists in order that they make room for invention and don’t over control everything with their ‘management’ may be where we are at in our sophisticated society right now.
But looking around the world there are still plenty of old style military dictators in power and shooting their own people on their own streets right now and no matter how imperfect it is here (it’s far from perfect) I’m glad that I live where I do.

…is what I’m developing after the last few hours of mostly reading long threads and documents on subjects that I find are so huge and generally avoid!

That said, I do feel it is time I caught up as last time I tried understanding these topics I stumbled upon Kropotkin’s vision of Communal/Social Anarchism. I say stumbled because I was living in Brighton at the time and apparently he lived there for a while, and that’s how I ended up discovering his vision and thinking “that sounds sensible” however I really don’t feel as educated as others around these subjects.

I tend to focus on what feels right in the “now” and look to the future as opposed to studying the past in depth. What I feel is right in the “now” is the opportunity I have to be part of growing technology which enables and empowers people more so than ever before.

Precisely what part that is I still don’t know, which is why I felt spending some time on this subject valuable so I could remind myself of my own position on the subject and see where I could very well be projecting other non-related issues into the discussion so I can separate the two. e.g.:

I notice I do that when I personify an issue - not that it’s an invalid response, but does pander to my limiting beliefs so I am trying to be more observing as to when I do that and next time delve a little deeper before hitting reply as underneath there’s probably more useful energy I could be sharing!

Nice one Steve.

" Kropotkin constructs an argument for the common ownership of all intellectual and useful property due to the collective work that went into creating it. Sounds like open source code?

Social anarchism is the branch of anarchism that sees individual freedom as interrelated with mutual aid

Now I have to check out ‘BreadTube’

Huh, vaguely remember that, just checked out BreadTube.tv homepage, looks like a few things of interest there - I don’t really understand/get the U.S. politics side of things but other ones with descriptions like “Challenging Society Through Commentary” do!

Everytime I jump into youtube I end watching something else too - their AI does it’s job!

This is a bit more English - one of the arguments around democracy that I have heard often - if the majority had their way (Democracy) then we would bring back hanging. Why did we ever get rid of it?

Wait. So the guy who said that “we should not be all about black or white” (the socialist) is really a developer or was just some dude participating in the forum? I joined here a few weeks for the same thing. The WEF only says that Holochain is better than Blockchain in terms of descentralization. But I just saw a video about how Holochain works where they talk about how Holochain will empower “public, private and mixed” applications. Like… whaaat???

I know the source code is there and anyone will be able to build on Holochain. So maybe thats what they are trying to mean. But seeing that they are recruiting a person to “comply with the rules” (enforced by government) made me go back in here to see if there is any information on their plans about partnering with governments.

There is also a great project of private law, so to speak, called PAID. There I saw that they are also trying to partner with “E-money”, a project based on fiat currencies and fractional reserve. I had to join their Telegram and explain why that was a step backwards in terms of Blockchain descentralization.

I guess everyone simply wants to be a developer these days; I guess they think it sounds cool to be a dev! Haha!

Wow! Where might I find it? Any links?? Would love to know dig more about it…

Wait, they really retwitted that as a good thing? Could you send the link? If thats true I’ll be better helping another project. It seems weird because they mentioned in an AMA how they want to create cryptocurrencies based on real world usage and not just a new source code. Like real money. It sounded Austrian to me… big F for my expectations

Wow! So I’m not alone here! You just made my day, bro!

https://paidnetwork.com/ I had to read the white paper in order to really understand the project. It seems HUGE in terms of Liberty. (As far as they dont partner with governments or projects based on fractional reserve, hehe)

I mean yeah, that was the article. I wanted to see the RT of HOLO to the WEF sad real joke of “2030, You will own nothing and you’ll be happy”

They never tweeted anything like that! That’s why I appended LOL to those posts! I was making them up… I though it made for a nice joke… Anyway, wouldn’t joke on forums now on… Lesson learned!

Oh, lol I was a little bit worried. I’ll guess I’ll keep constantly watching this forum just in case there is really a partership with Governments. I mean, it is already happening (thats why they are hiring an “expert” on complying with government regulations) but I dont want to believe it. By the way, if you happen to like PAID project I would suggest you to press “Contact us” and send them an E-mail on how their partership with E-Money is BAD. I already did it but maybe if there are two people explaining them the downsides they will try to learn Austrian Economics to see by their own eyes if thats true. Is there any way I can add you on Social Media or something similar? You know how rare it is to know Ancaps, especially well informed ones.

Oh dear… I did try a bunch of social-sites a long time ago but to no avail… [Social media ain’t so fun for asocial guys, you see…]

Anyway, here’s one I created some years ago to keep track of my tech-stack; I hope you’d be okay with it? [https://www.linkedin.com/in/the-a-man--/]

There was also Ulex that was working on something that might be similar, and at one point a couple years ago they said they were building on Holochain: https://instituteforcompgov.org/ulex
