Vagrant up failing: vtx disabled in Bios (Windows)

Part of the error message after a vagrant up command was:

VBoxManage.exe: error: VT-x is disabled in the BIOS for all CPU modes

On my HP’s Bios, under ‘system security’, I enabled VT-x virtualization.

This is kind of straightforward, unless you don’t pay attention to the full error message (like me) and waste time on another route!

Thanks for the tip! Would you be willing to write this up as a brief howto in #learning-library:recipes-howtos?

Sure… Is it okay if I (mainly) copy-paste?

Sure — if I could make one recommendation, I didn’t immediately realise you were answering your own question, so I might rephrase the post title (something like “how to fix the error _______”).
