Hi Holochain Community,

I’m working on an idea for a decentralized application (hApp) to support the housing rights movement in the UK. The primary goal is to map and connect the work of various groups—tenant unions, housing cooperatives, charities, and grassroots activists—to provide a comprehensive view of our collective progress towards decent housing.

Key functionalities include:

  • Mapping the work of housing groups to highlight combined efforts and progress.
  • Documenting vacant properties as potential solutions for housing.
  • Resource sharing to enable collaboration (tools, skills, funding).
  • Decentralized governance for decision-making.
  • Supporting cooperatives to secure land and housing.

I envision this platform as agent-centric, accessible, and empowering, aligned with Holochain’s strengths. While I want to focus on founding the project, I’m seeking collaborators to help shape its framework.

I’d love to hear your thoughts or interest in collaborating on this exciting opportunity to advance housing rights.

Hi Dan! I’m afraid you’ve come to a ghost town – I didn’t know this forum was still even accepting posts! Head over to the DEV.HC Discord, which is a much more active place for hApp devs and people with great app ideas.

Just so you don’t think I’m a spammer (which seems to be the only active kind of person on this forum, with the exception of the lovely @MsAnita who posts regularly) I’m not going to post the link here – instead, scroll down to the bottom of the page, click the holochain.org link, and click on the Discord logo in the header of that website.

Be sure to introduce yourself there in the introductions channel, and repost this idea in the hApp ideas channel. I don’t think anyone’s working on housing rights; it would be a unique application of Holochain!
