Thanks for the encouragement! As I watched Trump give his Coronavirus address I thought “damn! is trump a better reader and content creator than me?!!!” However, I think the teleprompter really spoon-feeds the presenter words, or at least this is what my ego is telling me!

yes I say simmilar things to myself regularly to give me some courage like - if this [enter random spineless politician] can say lies and populist tricks like that outloud, I should definitelly not be ashamed to talk about my excitement for potentially revolutionary ideas and technology :))

I learned a lesson in Afghanistan—lots of people had a strong opinion about my ideas, which caused a lot of stress and self-doubt. However, after realizing that everyone critiquing me never produced anything substantial or pioneering, they were happier not participating and pointing fingers at those they were publishing. Then I came across that speech from Teddy Rosevelt “The man in the arena,” when he says “it isn’t the critic that counts, but the man who tries and fails is who matters”…or something to the effect. So, lets fail our way to a new decentralized world!!

Fascinating conversation @kerrgreg and @anton. Some interesting parallels in our backgrounds Greg. I spent a year studying IR at the University of Ghana and did my masters thesis on the Liberian civil war. Post that did intelligence analysis for 10 years and went on a quest looking for people looking for totally new systemic/structural solutions. Bumped into lots of people that thought I was crazy, lots of induced stress, and only close friends encouraging–but with “I have no idea what vision you’re seeing, but I don’t get it.” All that led me to the small group here, coalescing several years ago, as the only single project I’d found with similar goals and technical chops chasing a similar vision. Long way of saying: Welcome!
Wondering if checking out what we’re doing is giving you any thoughts around disaster relief, and specifically within the context of this day in history, response to Covid-19?

Oh we totally need to talk! I’m close with the Mono tribe in Nimba county, where Prince Johnson is still a county senator. The people of Nimba has a different view of Prince than I found anywhere (Prince executed 3 of my lead engineer’s bosses in front of him–it made for so awkward work moments!).
