Hi everyone! Virtual Hackalong session 6 will be in:

If anyone wants me to explicitly invite them into the calendar event, ping me with your email.

See you there!

UPDATE: Summary of the session

  • Tats updated us on the progress on the profile zome
    • Repository: http://github.com/holochain-open-dev/holochain-profiles
    • Forum post: Kizuna
    • Simplified the profile zome, removed the email
    • Removed the uniquess validation for username and email
    • Next steps: implement update and delete profile
    • It’s perfect for those who need a placeholder for discoverability until Personas comes
    • We also discussed the strategy around profiles for when personas becomes usable
  • Oguz presented his project: holochain-photos
    • Repository: https://github.com/ogu83/holochain_photos
    • Forum: Holochain photos
    • Goal: for the photos to belong to the people again
    • Strategy: start with photos and expand into all kinds of files
    • Problem: upload time in holochain is very slow and also can halt the conductor
    • We discussed chunking strategies and what entry/links patterns to use
    • Also how we could integrate different tech like IPFS
  • Nastasia presented LeaP

The GCal events have a recurrence end date on April 28th/29th, so they don’t actually show up for this week.

It’s possible to edit the end date when adding the event, which I did, but just letting you know

Thanks Michael. We’ll be sending out a new set of Calendar invites May 14 onwards, so it should be sorted then.

@guillemcordoba thank you for writing a summary for the session!
Considering that sessions rarely last for an hour, would it make sense to increase the timeslot in the calendar to 1.5 hours? I think It would simplify the planning for participants.
